People 1st
People 1st is the skills council for the hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism sector in the UK.
They are working to transform skills in the sector, particularly in the areas of management and leadership, customer service and craft skills. People 1st are committed to ensuring that public funds support the industry to develop only those qualifications and programmes that meet the needs of employers.
Accommodation Quality Assurance Schemes
If you run a hotel, guest house or a self-catering establishment, you will understand the benefits of being associated with a well-established qaulity assurance scheme.
Both The AA and the Quality in Tourism have developed star rating quality schemes to help consumers understand the different types of accommodation available.

Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (FHRS)
Food Hygiene Rating Scheme is a national public information service where you can find the official local authority hygiene ratings for food businesses - now the world's largest site of its type.
Everyone can find out how hygienic and well-managed the food preparation at any of the premises listed such as favourite take-aways, clubs, pubs and restaurants.

Creative England
Creative England is a new organisation that has taken over the remit from the regional screen agency network to deliver film-based activity across the English regions on behalf of the British Film Institute and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. Click on the link above to find out more.
Wakefield district has around 130 locations listed on the Yorkshire locations database covering key tourist attractions, public spaces, municipal buildings, private residences and business premises: these include the Hepworth Wakefield; Yorkshire Sculpture Park; Nostell Priory; Xscape and Wakefield Town Hall.
Wakefield Council's Tourism Team also deal with enquiries from production managers for locations suitable for film and television.
