The Red Shed

This long standing Wakefield landmark is a unique institution.
Erected in 1966 The Red Shed is an unpretentious wooden ex-army barrack building located near the city centre on Vicarage Street. The Red Shed a meeting place, a social club, a folk music venue and last but certainly not least, a multi-award winning bar.
Winner of numerous CAMRA awards, both locally and nationally for well kept real beer, the shed has a rotating selection of traditional ales, well kept and at reasonable prices, plus a wide range of Belgian bottled beers, perrys and ciders.
The shed is a popular Yorkshire venue for folk music concerts, poetry readings and open mike sessions. Artistes have included Martin Simpson, Emily Smith, Ewan McLennan, Steve Tilston and the Jon Strong Band.
New members and visitors are always given a warm welcome.
