West Yorkshire Archive Service
The West Yorkshire Archive Service, Wakefield, is home to thousands of records of the former West Riding and West Yorkshire county, including the Registry of Deeds, as well as being the record office for Wakefield Metropolitan District. The archive service also provide facilities such as conservation and microfilming.
As well as investigating local history, visitors can delve into their family's past by using the well-equipped search facilities on site.
Appointments recommended as the searchrooms can get very busy.
