Historic Lakes and Woodland at Yorkshire Sculpture Park
This summer, visitors can discover some of YSP’s hidden secrets as historic lakes and woodland are opened to the public for the very first time in the Park’s long history. Extensive work, funded by Natural England, has reinstated long-forgotten footpaths and bridges, and restored delightful features including a Greek-style Summer House, a now landlocked Boathouse, Stepping Stones and a magical Shell Grotto.

By Road:
From Wakefield City Centre: Turn left onto the A637 from the A636. Proceed through West Bretton village until you reach a roundabout. At this roundabout, turn right and follow the road through to the YSP car park and Centre.
From Motorway North/South: Exit the M1 at Junction 38, take the A637 towards Huddersfield, and follow the Yorkshire Sculpture Park brown heritage signs for one mile until you reach a roundabout. At this roundabout, turn left past Archway Lodge and follow the road through to the YSP car park and Centre.
From Motorway East/West: Leave the M62 at Junction 29 and take the M1 South towards Wakefield and Sheffield. Exit the M1 at Junction 38, take the A637 towards Huddersfield, and follow the Yorkshire Sculpture Park brown heritage signs for one mile until you reach a roundabout. At this roundabout, turn left past Archway Lodge and follow the road through to the YSP car park and Centre.
By Public Transport:
Nearest Railway Station: Wakefield Westgate Railway Station (5 miles)
Nearest Bus Station: Wakefield Bus Station (5 miles)
Bus Route: Tate Travel Service No. 96 goes into the grounds of the Park and drops passengers off close to the visitor centre. This services runs from Wakefield Bus Station 7 days a week.
