Ossett Town Hall
In 1890 Ossett was granted its Borough Charter and some fifteen years later the building of the Town Hall began. The architect chosen was an A. W. Hanstock of Batley who had also designed Horbury Town Hall. The Foundation stone of Ossett Town Hall was laid by the Mayor, Councillor J.H Nettleton in February 1906 during a heavy snowstorm and the building was officially opened in June 1908. Built on what the ‘Ossett Observer’ called the finest site in Ossett that dominated Market Place..
Situated in the very heart of the delightful market town of Ossett, The Town Hall still houses many of its original facilities including the Compton Organ, Court Room, Council Chamber room, Mayors parlour and breathtaking auditorium making the Town Hall a stunning historic place of interest.
Today this elegant venue can accommodate anything from conferences, weddings, private parties, fairs and more! The Town Hall boasts a 400 capacity auditorium which is popular with staging large concerts, shows, festivals, and offers a diverse events programme, delivered by our highly professional Events and Functions Team.
