The Library holds a wealth of information on the history of coal mining in England – not only the geographical and technical aspects of mining coal, but also the social, economic and political aspect of the industry and the communities it touched.

This information is available to anyone with an interest – everyone is welcomed.

Topics include: mining disasters, conditions in mines and mining communities, coal production statistics, unions, welfare, training, mining technology, regeneration, mining in the modern age, individual mines and lots more.
