Celebrate Heritage Open Days by visiting Wakefield Cathedral on Saturday 9th September.

Activities for the day include;

Church and State - An exhibition of Cathedral vestments and Wakefield robes and regalia.

Tower Tours - Climb the 170 steps up Wakefield Cathedral tower for magnificent views of the city and the surrounding countryside. Wakefield Cathedral have the tallest spire in Yorkshire, rising another 49 metres above the top of the tower. Tours will be at 11am, 12pm and 1pm.

Cathedral Tours - Visit some of the parts of the cathedral not usually open to the public at 11am and 2pm.

Drop in for some fun Family Activities as well including trails, dressing up and even make your own bishop's mitre from 11am to 2pm.

This will be a fascinating experience for Heritage Open Days.

Follow the signs for Wakefield City Centre from the M1 or M62. There is no parking at this venue as it is located in a pedestrian precinct. Pay and display parking is available on Northgate or at the Ridings Shopping Centre opposite.
