Castleford Civic Centre was opened in March 1970 by her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Kent as a community resource and as an administration base for the Town Council.
Today Castleford Civic Centre has a well-deserved reputation as a modern and vibrant venue that has at its heart a spectacular and highly flexible 500 capacity atmospheric auditorium. This making it an ideal venue to host large conferences and meetings and is perfect for shows, concerts, parties and private celebrations.
Alternatively the admirable Legioleum Room, named after the original Roman term for Castleford is suitable for conferences, weddings, and private parties.
In fact, it’s this combination of our rich history, long-lasting traditions, and authentic modernist architecture that bring any functions to life, making Castleford Civic Centre a true modern classic and a venue quite unlike any other.
