Feeling a little bit peckish? Pop into The Liquorice Café, situated inside the new visitor centre at Pontefract Castle.

Open during visiting hours, The Liquorice Café offers a range of delicious home cooked food alongside cakes, scones and Yorkshire treats baked fresh every day.

The lovely folk behind The Liquorice Café are award winning caterers Asparagus Green who pride themselves on sourcing local Yorkshire products. Asparagus Green, who also provide catering at the National Coal Mining Museum for England, are finalists in this year’s White Rose Awards and have been voted New Business of the Year 2016 at the Wakefield Business Awards.

Sample Menu:
• Light Breakfast menu including toast, crumpets and Breakfast Bockaglory
• Seasonal soup of the day with sour dough bread (Gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian)
• Delicious homemade cakes, scones and sweet Yorkshire treats
• A range of hot and cold sandwiches
• Hot dishes including quiche and jacket potatoes

Little Visitors to the café can have a smaller portion of the menu or choose a special children’s lunch pack containing five healthy treats.
