Details

What do The Cribs, Sir Martin Frobisher, Jane McDonald and Henry Moore (to name a few) all have in common? They all have Wakefield Stars! Walk around Wakefield city and not only will the stars be above your head they will be beneath your feet!

The Star scheme was created to honour the achievements of the people that we’re proud of who have lived in Wakefield district, the people that have enriched their local community; brought their community to national prominence; are nationally recognised as leaders in their profession or industry. Stars are also available for locally grown businesses that have put our area on the map.

The way to get a star is to get nominated; if there’s someone that you admire (past or present) and you’d like to see them immortalised in stone simply nominate them! Why not take a stroll and see if you can see your hero on our very own ‘walk of fame’ which starts on the Bull Ring and ends at The Hepworth Wakefield!
