Pop-Up Prose at Wakefield
Literary Festival, from 23 Sep 2016, free entry
Also at this Venue
Pop-Up Prose is an installation project linking young creative writers and empty space in the city centre via the written word.
Starting with an open call out and workshops with young artists delivered by Gemma Whelan and Louise Fazackerly, the creative writing collected will then be illustrated by a local sign writer in the empty shop windows of Wakefield.
By turning this writing into a public installation, for visitors to view throughout the festival we hope to engage a new audience and provide new opportunities for the young creatives involved.
The project will culminate in a film screening in 11a Wood Street, Wakefield on the 28th September from 5pm. Here you will be able to see the whole process of the project, documented throughout which will give context and meaning to all the words seen in the windows.
See Pop-Up Prose throughout the festival from 23 September to 2 October.
