Tourism Business News

This section of the website provides information for businesses and tourism partners in the Wakefield District.

Wakefield Council works in partnership with many organisations to encourage growth in the visitor economy for the Wakefield District.

We are members of Welcome to Yorkshire (WTY), the regional tourist board who are responsible for marketing the region nationally. We work closely with them to ensure our tourism offer is represented in regional activities and marketing campaigns.

Along with Welcome to Yorkshire, Wakefield Council works with Leeds City Council, Kirklees Council, Bradford Council and Calderdale Council to develop tourism in West Yorkshire.

This partnership is part of the Yorkshire Tourism Network managed by Welcome to Yorkshire.
