Festival Attractions

There’s plenty of see and do at the Wakefield Festival of Food, Drink and Rhubarb. Here are just a few highlights to wet your appetite…

Festival Market

The popular festival market features tempting treats - with many products inspired by, infused with or created with Yorkshire Forced Rhubarb!

There is everything from artisan breads, preserves and cheeses to scrumptious cakes, delectable wines, gins and much more.

There’s also the Deliciously Yorkshire market, selling some of the best produce our wonderful county has to offer.

Cookery Demonstrations

Celebrity chef Jean-Christophe Novelli will be serving up a rhubarb-inspired culinary masterclass in our demonstration marquee, along with some of the best local and regional talent.

The cookery demonstrations are FREE and very popular, so be sure to get there early as it’s first come first seated.

Take a look at the full demonstration timetable below to find out what day each chef will be appearing on and what time!

Delicious Street Food

If the sights and smells of our festival market and cookery demonstrations have tantalised your tastebuds, grab a bite to eat from our exciting array of hot street vendors on Kirkgate and the Bull Ring.

Alternatively, pop into one of our local cafes or restaurants to enjoy the many special rhubarb-themed goodies on offer.

Street Entertainment

Lively street performers will keep you entertained throughout the weekend – and watch out for our very own Dame Ruby Rhubarb causing rhubarb-related mayhem around the festival!
