Museum and Library

Located next door to each other in the Wakefield One building, Wakefield Library and Museum are celebrating the festival with activities on the Friday and Saturday of the festival weekend.

Wakefield Library is hosting Rhubarb Festival badge making on Friday and Saturday, along with story time for under 5s (10.30am Friday), and family circus skills workshops with the Rapide Brothers (11am Saturday).

Steve Ward, author of ‘Beneath the Big Top: A Social History of the Circus in Britain’, will be holding a talk and book signing in the Library at 2.30pm on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Wakefield Museum has a small exhibtion where you can learn the history of everyone’s favourite pink vegetable and hear the sound it makes as it grows in the darkness.
