A Bargain with the Light

A Bargain with the Light

Join poet, educator and T S Eliot Award shortlisted writer Jacqueline Saphra for an intimate reading from her recent book A Bargain With The Light: Poems After Lee Miller, published by Hercules Press in 2017.

The evening will include an introduction by Saphra into her journey through Miller’s story to the writing of the poems, along with an informal Q&A session and book signing.

Informed by the life and work of Lee Miller and inspired by the 2015 Imperial War Museum exhibition Lee Miller: A Woman’s War, A Bargain with the Light has been performed at the Ledbury and Bridlington Poetry Festivals, and at the recent WOW Festival at the Southbank Centre.

Jacqueline Saphra describes herself as a poet, editor, agitator, teacher, organiser and word-enthusiast, writing prose and poems cross genres while collaborating with composers, musicians and visual artists.
