Details

In July 1912 King George V came to Wakefield to see a magnificent model of a revolutionary boiler. Now you can see it too. Wakefield Museum and the company who originally made it, E. Green and Son (now Greenspower) have come together to restore the model back to its former glory.

E. Green’s of Wakefield patented their Economiser boilers in the 1840s and they were a milestone in making eco-friendly fuel efficient systems.

Find out all about the King’s visit to Wakefield and discover the fascinating story behind one of Wakefield’s longest standing firms.
