Upper Midgley Farm is a third generation, family owned working cattle farm with horse livery stables. An eco-conscious farm house, powered by its own wind turbine and warmly heated througout with a wood burning stove, you are sure of a generous welcome.

Whilst being close to main transport routes the farmhouse still manages to maintain the peace of the surrounding countryside.

Visitors are welcome to enjoy the farm setting and take a first hand look at the daily routines of a working farm. Free range hens that provide the freshly cooked eggs at breakfast enjoy wandering around the farm too.

Take in the view over the breathtaking countryside from the seating area by training menage as horses are exercised.

Upper Midgley Farm offers traditional farmhouse bed and breakfast, accommodation is offered to guests in a location perfectly suited to exploring West Yorkshire. We are just 7 miles from Wakefield city centre and on the boundary of Huddersfield and Barnsley. Close to visitor attractions such as the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and the National Coal Mining Museum.

Whether on a business trip or enjoying a few days away a warm welcome awaits you, with superb homecooked, hearty food. Packed lunches and evening meals on request. Children welcome from any age.
