Your chance to climb the historic tower and see Wakefield from a new perspective.

Climb the 170 steps up Wakefield Cathedral tower for magnificent views of the city and surrounding countryside.

Its the tallest spire in Yorkshire, rising another 49 meters above the top of the tower.

Your guide will show you our set of 14 bells, the heaviest, the tenor, weighs nearly 1800kg.

Each tour is restricted to a maximum of 16 people. Times include; 11:00, 12:00 & 13:00.

You can book your place onto a tour in the Cathedral on the day. You must be in good health to climb the 170 uneven steps of the medieval spiral staircase and will need to sign a medical disclaimer before taking the Tower Tour.

Sensible shoes must be worn. Not suitable for children under the age of 10. Any children aged 10 to 17 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Follow the signs for Wakefield City Centre from the M1 or M62. There is no parking at this venue as it is located in a pedestrian precinct. Pay and display parking is available on Northgate or at the Ridings Shopping Centre opposite.
