Birkwood Farm Fisheries is set on the Rural Urban Fringe of Altofts near Normanton, Birkwood Fisheries is only 3 miles from Wakefield and 6 miles from the centre of Leeds.
The complex currently has 5 lakes: Main Lake, Frog Hall, Molly's Lake, Oscar’s Lakes and Emily’s Lakes. Total number of fishing stations is now in excess of 100.
Birkwood Fisheries has been operating since 1998 and has already built up an enviable reputation.
When ever you visit Birkwood you are assured of a warm welcome and an enjoyable fishing experience.
Opening details
Summer opening 6am to 9pm or dusk (which ever is sooner).
Winter opening 7am until dusk (No night fishing).
Closed Mondays, except Bank Holidays.

Birkwood Farm Fisheries is situated on Birkwood Road, Altofts, Normanton. WF6 2JE.
Birkwood can be approaced from either East or West. If travelling from the Wakefield / Leeds direction turn left off Aberford Road (A 642) towards Stanley Ferry. This is signposted Altofts and Normanton. Go past the Ship Pub, over the 2 bridges, up the hill and when you get to 2 white cottages turn left onto Birkwood Farm. The Fisheries are signposted.
From Pontefract and Castleford direction enter Altofts from the Whitwood area and continue through Altofts. Birkwood Farm is situated about 1 mile outside Altofts Village follow the sign to Wakefield, look for the Robin Hood Pub on the left and continue for 1 mile. The farm is on the right just past Roots Nurseries.
Birkwood is 2 miles from the M62 (junction 30) and 3 miles from the M1 (junction 42 which is the M62 Junction). The A1 is less than 5 miles away.
