Anglers Country Park is perfect for nature lovers, walkers, cyclists, picnickers - and not forgetting those little adventurers!
Once known as one of the deepest open cast coal mines in the country reaching a depth of 250 feet, Anglers Country Park has since flourished into a beautiful haven for wildlife.
Take a relaxing stroll along the two mile lakeside path. Feeling active? Extend your route to explore the wider countryside; choose a woodland walk or head out onto the Barnsley Canal towpath.
See the latest nature sightings noted on the blackboard at the entrance to the park before exploring the countryside for yourself. What wildlife will you spot?
Take the little ones on an adventure they won’t forget! Follow the mysterious footprints along the Room on the Broom Trail to find the well-known characters from the story.
The two mile path around the lake is both wheelchair and pushchair friendly. Electric mobility scooters are available free of charge for use within the park.
Scooters are available instead of wheelchairs.
