Fri 22 Feb Rhu-Bar Tent Comedy Night

Come and be entertained by four hilarious comedians - each with a very distinct style - at this evening of laughter, which forms part of Wakefield's Festival of Food, Drink and Rhubarb.

Compere: Adam Rushton

Opening Act: Big Lou

Lewis 'Big Lou' Jones has become a favourite on both the comedy circuit and after dinner circuit since he burst on to the scene back in 2010. Another product of the legendary comedy writer Ashley Boroda's comedy course, the Manchester-born comic announced himself onto the comedy scene by winning the Lass O'Gowrie New Comedian of the Year competition.

Second Act: Liam Pickford

Liam has crafted his own unique brand of stand up, mixing cleverly honed material and punchlines with excitingly unpredictable audience interaction. All this mixed in with a hint of 'whimsy' and clever observations whilst delivered in a wonderfully unethusiastic and grumpy style.

Headliner: Angelos Epithemiou - Dan Renton Skinner

Angelos Epithemiou appeared on series 6 of Shooting Stars as a permanent member of Team B, replacing Johnny Vegas. In 2010 Skinner took the Epithemiou character on a UK Tour titled Angelos Epithemiou & Friends Christmas Sho; due to popular demand, venues introduced additional dates throughout December 2010.

He appeared four times on Soccer AM during 2011 and 2012, and was a guest panellist on the BBC music quiz show Never Mind the Buzzcocks in December 2011. In December 2011 Skinner won the Best Comedy Breakthrough Artist at The British Comedy Awards for his work as Epithemiou over the previous year. In the same month, he appeared as Epithemiou on the Christmas special of The Rob Brydon Show. In 2012, he starred in his own show, The Angelos Epithemiou Show on Channel 4.
