*****

Following Government and UK Theatre guidance issued on 16 March, Theatre Royal Wakefield has taken the decision to temporarily close shows to the public. Our café and box office will remain open. At present we are unsure how long this closure will last but for now all shows until Saturday 28 March will not go ahead. We will keep everyone updated by email and on our website and social media channels.

If you have booked tickets to forthcoming shows that are affected by this closure, you are of course entitled to a full refund and you will be contacted in due course. We are a small team, so we ask for your patience as we go through this process.

Theatre Royal Wakefield is a small theatre that relies heavily on local support. So we would ask customers to consider the possibility of donating the cost of your ticket to help keep the theatre afloat in these most unusual of circumstances.

Take your seats at the Theatre Royal Wakefield for a night you won’t forget!

The beautiful Grade II* listed building was built by renowned architect Frank Matcham in 1894 and has been delighting audiences ever since.

The theatre plays host to a variety of colourful and stirring performances from local amateur groups and national touring theatre companies, throughout the year.

Whether it’s musical theatre, comedy, ballet, live bands or drama you enjoy, you’ll be sure to find something to love.

So treat yourself to an evening of excitement and laughter at the Theatre Royal Wakefield, one of the jewels in Wakefield’s crown.
