Re-opening information

The library is re-opening on 11 July 2020 with reduced hours initially – see schedule below. There will be changes to its operation to protect the health of everyone. Please see the website for health and safety guidelines and changes to services.

Library resources, services and functions:

• Large collection of fiction and non-fiction books, including large print and talking books
• Variety of ‘quick choice’ and easy access popular material
• Reference and information material
• Newspapers and periodicals
• Community notices
• Local history collection
• 19 public access computers with FREE internet access and Microsoft Office suite

• A4 and A3 colour printing, photocopying and scanning facilities

Children's resources and services at Normanton Library:
• Books to suit all ages from toddler to teenager
• 2 children’s computers with appropriately filtered internet access

• Regular school visits for library instruction and Storytime

By Road:
Normanton is well placed strategically. It is located off exit 31 of the M62 motorway and is very accessible from both Wakefield district and the surrounding areas. The Centre itself is in the heart of Normanton, near the main shopping centre and adjacent to the town's new swimming pool.
